Tudor Submariner 94110

Description

Tudor Submariner

This Tudor Submariner is offered in the UK by a private seller. A neo-vintage version of the iconic Submariner, built by Tudor. Presented with a display box, and third-party service receipt only - the original warranty papers are not included. Despite living in the shadow of its big brother Rolex, Tudor has its own acclaimed and very interesting history, particularly when it comes to dive watches. The first Tudor Submariner was launched in 1954, a year after the introduction of the model by Rolex. This ref. 94110, introduced in 1979, is recognized for its characteristic “Snowflake” hour hand and square hour markers. This model was part of Tudor’s 94-series Submariners, which featured improvements in dial quality compared with earlier references, addressing issues like discolouration found on prior models. This reference is powered by a 25-jewel ETA 2784 automatic movement, which offers hacking functionality and a quickset date feature. The watch is adjusted using a Rolex Triplock crown, and its caseback indicates that the case was manufactured by Rolex in Geneva. The design balances durability and legibility, making it suitable for professional diving while retaining classic wristwatch aesthetics. As the last Tudor Submariner to feature square hour markers, the 94110 represents a transitional model in the brand’s history. Its combination of unique hands, robust ETA movement, and high-quality construction has made it a favorite among collectors. The 94110’s enduring influence is visible in Tudor’s modern dive watches, including the Black Bay and Pelagos, which continue to reference the Snowflake hand design.
