The first Daytona mixing watchmaking and jewelry appeared in the 1980s and were adorned only with diamonds. In the 1990s, Rolex continued its aesthetic research and added a touch of color to its creations. The reference 16559 SACO is a perfect example of this color revolution. Indeed, the choice of the quality and the color of the gems, shows us the requirement and the precision in this creation. The combination of an amber mother-of-pearl dial, orange-yellow sapphires and a touch of diamonds reveals a harmonious and elegant result while keeping the sporty side of the Daytona. Jeweled watches had less appeal in the 1990s which led to very limited production of this type of piece. In recent years, they have been increasingly sought after by collectors. This sACO model only appeared twice at public auctions. This fact illustrates the extreme rarity of these coins. Thus after more than 15 years, a Rolex Daytona 16559 SACO is again presented in an auction. This reference is illustrated in the Mondani books, Rolex 2006 edition page 161 and Rolex Story volume II page 182.117, Estimate CHF 300,000-400,000.-
