Outer case in partially embossed repoussé depicting on the back the Judgment of Solomon in a medallion surround with laureate heads, frieze of small animals and foliage, and rocaille. Gilded dial with engraved black-enameled Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes, on an amatized background decorated with fleur-de-lys. Rooster movement, key winding, striking hours and quarters on gong. Dial and movement signed ''ROOKER LONDON''. English work from the mid-18th century (slight dents and indentations on the case).
