Zenith – Vintage 192o Original Sterling Silver .900 Cushion Watch

Here is a rare early Zenith wristwatch in a sterling silver cushion case, dating to 1920, in good condition and in proper working order. Zenith had been producing in-house movements in Le Locle since 1865, and by 1920 was among the most established Swiss manufactures. The movement fitted in this watch is a small manually wound manufacture-grade calibre. The case is in sterling silver (0.900) with a cushion form and fixed wire lugs, measuring 28mm excluding the crown. The case is in a very good condition with only light traces of wear. The caseback carries an elegantly hand-engraved presentation inscription reading “Paul DuBois, Neuchâtel.” Paul Fritz DuBois (1878–1961) was a prominent civic and religious figure in Neuchâtel, serving as a Reformed Church pastor, General Counsellor of the Canton of Neuchâtel, and President of the Swiss Society of Chaplains. This inscription places the watch as a presentation piece with documented local provenance from the Canton of Neuchâtel, the historical centre of the Swiss watchmaking industry. The original radium dial has developed a warm and even amber patina, with ornate Arabic numerals and small seconds at 6 o’clock. The blued steel gothic hands are original. The crown is period-consistent with the case. The watch is fitted with a brown vintage leather strap. The movement has been serviced in-house and is in good working order. This timepiece is delivered with our six-month guarantee and originality certificate. Worldwide shipping is available and inquiries are welcome.
