MARKWICK MARKHAM BORRELL, LONDON Late 18th century Enameled gold watch with triple case, made for the Ottoman market Case: triple with large polychrome enamel decoration, the first protective case with green enamel decoration on the rim and glass on the back, the second with a similar turquoise-blue enamel rim, the third with a polychrome enamel bouquet of flowers on the back, inside the latter case the maker's hallmark. Dial: white enamel with Turkish numerals for hours and minutes, minute track, signed "Markwick Markham Borrell London". Movement: mechanical with key winding, chased and pierced cock with a single foot, regulating disc, spiral balance, verge escapement, spindle and chain, signed "Markwick Markham Borrell London" on the plate.
