An ode to the luxury traveler
Vacheron Constantin has a notable history of following tradition and being part of an older school of thought in horology. Most of the brand’s watches have a grand touch of a Geneva Seal. However, they do have a modern side that caters to younger watch enthusiasts. The Overseas range is one of them. The luxurious sports watch line came to life in 1996, and takes inspiration from the legendary 222 released in 1977.
This collection has added even more complications as the years progressed, with newer generation timepieces having dual-time, chronographs, perpetual calendars, and more. Following these aesthetics and functionality, the Vacheron Overseas Tourbillon Blue follows the wonderful spirit of travel.
Showcasing an ultra-slim movement, the 5.65 mm thick and 30.4mm size watch includes a unique tourbillon cage with the Maltese cross as its muse. It comes with a 22k peripheral rotor that lets onlookers witness its meticulous movement as they peek inside the openworked caseback. The caliber reference 2160 has a self-winding movement, with a power reserve of 80 hours, 188 parts, and 30 jewels.
Featuring hours, minutes, and small seconds on the tourbillion carriage, the indexes are adorned with Super-LumiNova, which glows beautifully in the dark. Being a sports watch, it has a water resistance bar of 5.
The chic stainless steel case comes in a 42.5 mm size and 10.93 mm thickness, and a clasp that makes interchanging straps incredibly simple. The watch comes with three straps, in stainless steel, polished or satin-finished rubber in dark blue, or in dark blue calf. This adds a highly personal and customizable touch to the timepiece, as the owner can switch up straps whenever they wish or to match it with their current aesthetic. The deployment buckle is fashioned from stainless steel as well.
