In 1977, the brand released a 222nd anniversary sports watch, marking the origin of this model, 2019’s ref.6000V. The very first Overseas to feature a tourbillon, often considered the most luxurious as well as the ‘coolest’ complication in watchmaking, the tourbillon counteracts the effects of gravity on the accuracy of a watch, ensuring superlative timekeeping. Vacheron have intricately designed a Tourbillon cage inspired by their emblematic Maltese Cross, interacting with their famous deep blue dial for a breathtaking aesthetic. The 6000V also features an innovative quick-release mechanism which enables the wearer to swap out the bracelet for either the rubber or leather alternatives, in seconds without using tools, a unique design system which, in Vacheron’s words, enables the wearer to “personalise” their look. The watch’s 42.5mm stainless steel case with fluted bezel beautifully echoes the shape, once again, of the Maltese Cross, as does its integrated bracelet with geometric links.
