For sale from my collection is a piece of watch design history: the Universal Genève Polerouter with Cal. 138SS overhauled in October 2025. Originally created for SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) pilots flying over the North Pole in the 1950s, this model is the first work of the renowned designer Gérald Genta. This specific piece stands out for its rare Automatic Bumper movement Caliber 138SS, the beating heart of the very first Polerouter series. Dial: Original black with a beautiful and uniform "stardust" patina. Rehaut: Gold inner ring with concentric guilloché pattern. Case: Elegant 35mm case with "bombé" lugs, designed by Genta. The case is steel clad in gold. Movement: Universal Genève 138SS (Bumper), 17 jewels, Swiss Made. Fascinating mechanics where you can feel the rotor moving against the end-stroke springs. Case Back: Screw-down, with the Universal Genève logo still visible. The watch is in original vintage condition. It has not been restored to preserve its collectible value, but the movement has been overhauled and lubricated in October 2025. The dial shows a very suggestive natural patina.
