Seiko will enter the diver's watch category in earnest in 1965. The first model, which boasted a water resistance of 150m, was also adopted by the 8th Antarctic wintering team in 1966 due to its robustness. Following this trend, the 6105-8000, also known as the Second Diver, was born. The Second Diver is broadly divided into the early "6105-8000" and the later "6105-8110". The later "6105-8110" is also famous as the Uemura Diver, and is known to have been used by explorer Naoki Uemura and the protagonist Captain Willard in the movie "Apocalypse Now". In terms of appearance, the early model has a symmetrical case, while the later model has an asymmetrical case with a crown guard. Also, the crown is engraved with "SEIKO" in the early model, but "LOCK" in the later model because it has a crown lock function. Personally, I think the case of the early model has a more harmonious design and I feel the functional beauty of a tool watch. I also prefer the Seiko crown because it is more classic. The dial is highly visible because it is practical. It has a black dial with a silver frame and luminous paint, a bidirectional rotating bezel, and a calendar, so it has everything you need for everyday life. The case is in good condition and the beautiful hairlines from the time are still there. There is some deterioration in the bezel, but it does not detract from the overall atmosphere.
