Launched in 2010 as the first stainless steel Submariner to not feature a black dial and produced until 2020, the Submariner ref. 116610LV is famed as the "Hulk" with its sunburst green dial and green Cerachrom bezel combining to provide the dive watch with a bright and aggressive aesthetic just like that of the iconic Marvel superhero. Earning the name beyond just its color, the Hulk also featured Rolex's new Maxi-case design, whereby its lugs were thicker, and its case was much heavier than the previously discontinued ref. 16610LV that it had replaced. Ushering in the modern era of Rolex's dive watches with its bulkier design and bright colors, the Hulk quickly became a legendary variant of the Submariner, with it remaining sought-after and desirable.

THE CONSTRUCTION Appropriately named given its imposing construction, the Hulk and its sibling references all ushered in a new era for the Submariner with their larger cases that boasted thicker lugs, larger crown guards and heavier bracelets with solid end links and center links and modern Glidelock clasps.
