1958 Rolex 5508 Submariner
Description : The 5508 Submariner or “small crown” Submariner came after its 6538 “big crown” brother. It was a much more balanced watch in terms of proportions and the last of the no crown-guard Submariner’s. The guard-less case makes this a very sleek wearer. The case size is 2mm smaller due to not having crown guards and as such, it wears beautifully on most wrists. There is a shift in the market space towards smaller, less bloated watches, and we think this 5508 will be making a surge in the coming years. This model has a beautiful dial with warm yellow lume. The dial still remains glossy and the insert hosts the infamous red triangle only found on these early Subs.
