MWC have for sale a Rolex Submariner Ref. 5508.
Originally manufactured in 1957 and first released to the public in 1958, the Rolex Submariner Ref. 5508 is a quintessentially vintage timepiece that commands attention and admiration.
This reference represents an interesting chapter in the life story of the Submariner. It has some characteristics that would be recognizable on Submariners of today such as 15-minute graduations on the bezel and hour markers only on the dial, instead of the 3,6,9 numerals found on some earlier references. The absence of crown guards and smaller 37mm case diameter however are reminiscent of previous submariner references and give the watch a distinctly classic and vintage feel.
This particular watch from 1959 features a glossy gilt dial with radium luminescence on the hand and hour markers and a period correct riveted link bracelet.
