Rolex Air-King 114200

Description

Air-King 34mm Steel

The Rolex Air-King Ref. 114200 is a 34mm automatic wristwatch in 904L Oystersteel — the last generation of the Air-King line before its discontinuation in 2014, and the first Air-King to achieve COSC Superlative Chronometer certification. The Air-King's lineage traces to 1945, when Rolex produced a series of "Air" named watches to honour Royal Air Force pilots during World War II. The 114200 was introduced in 2007, succeeding the 14000M, and brought Caliber 3130 with COSC certification to the Air-King for the first time. The "Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified" text on the four-line dial replaced the single word "Precision" that had appeared on earlier Air-Kings. The 34mm case size gives the 114200 a classically proportioned, unisex wearability that appeals to those who prefer a more restrained Rolex sports watch presence. The blue dial carries Arabic numerals at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock — the classic three-numeral layout associated with Rolex's heritage tool and adventure watches. Concentric circle texturing on the blue sunburst dial creates depth and visual interest. Luminous baton hour markers fill the remaining positions. No date complication is present, keeping the dial clean and symmetrical. The smooth polished stainless steel bezel with its domed profile is specific to the Air-King 114200. The Oyster bracelet in 904L Oystersteel with solid end links and solid centre links closes with the Oysterclasp. Caliber 3130 delivers approximately 48 hours of power reserve with 31 jewels at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Water resistance is 100 metres.
