Presented with an XL Rolex display box, outer box and sleeve, warranty card and manual, card holder and user instructions. Introduced in 2013 to mark 50 years since the launch of its famous chronograph, the reference 116506 was the first series-production Daytona to be offered in platinum. The dial’s ice blue finish is used exclusively by Rolex for its platinum watches. This example also features the added desirability of factory-set baguette diamond hour markers. Complementing this distinctive colouring is a brown Cerachrom bezel. Despite its significant heft, the Daytona’s case is both ergonomic and wrist-friendly thanks to a height of just 12.2mm and a width of 40mm. Internally, the watch is powered by Rolex’s chronometer-certified calibre 4130, an automatic movement with a 72-hour power reserve.
