1977 Rolex Ref. 1601/8 Onyx Datejust
1977 Rolex Ref. 1601/8 Datejust with Onyx dial. Watch remains in excellent condition. Early T Swiss T dial is flawless. Jubilee bracelet is fully linked and has correct B date code. Minimal stretch in bracelet and coronet is strong. Watch comes with passport cover, hand written papers, sales invoice and your Rolex booklet. All of the documents look correctly aged and are correct for the era. In full transparency, while the documents could very well be correct, I do have some concerns as it relates to the use of different 9s and 1s used. In purchasing this watch value should primarily be assessed on the condition and rarity of the watch. This is a textbook example of how you just never know with certainly and why Jasper at AVW is correct when it comes to papers 😉 Buy a watch because its a bad ass watch. These early 4 digit stone dials are much more rare and this is a killer example. Pricing at very little premium over a watch only example.
