This model came in two variations: the traditional 'Root Beer' with a brown dial and bi-colour bezel, and this particular variant featuring a black dial with an all-black bezel. As a 'transitional model' alongside the 16750, the 16753 featured the automatic calibre 3075 movement, offering a quickset date and a higher beat rate—an upgrade from the 1675/3. This watch is also notable for another distinctive feature: the 'Nipple Dial', named for the unique gold hour markers that protrude slightly from the dial. The tritium hands have aged to a subtle off-white colour, as have the tops of the nipple markers. The open 6 and 9 date wheel has developed a pleasing patina. The case remains exceptionally strong, as close to unpolished as one can find. The G (82) stamped 78363/480 Oyster bracelet is one link short and exhibits minimal sag. The movement has recently been serviced and is running at +3 seconds per day, with an amplitude of 275 and a beat error of 0.2. This exceptional timepiece, with its unique features and excellent condition, stands as a compelling addition to any discerning collector's portfolio.

Collectible Features |Rolex 16753

Discover all the different variants of this specific reference that can enhance, or limit, this watch's value and collectability.
Tropical Dial
A dial that has aged from black to a brown or caramel color due to prolonged exposure to sunlight and elements. Highly prized for its unique and attractive aging. Greatly increases value due to unique appearance and collector demand.
Nipple Dial
The "nipple dial" is a term used to describe a specific type of dial found on certain vintage Rolex watches, particularly the Rolex GMT-Master and Submariner models from the 1970s and 1980s. The distinguishing feature of a nipple dial is its hour markers: instead of the usual flat or applied markers, these dials have raised, gold-trimmed markers that resemble small "nipples." These markers are typically made of gold and are filled with luminous material, allowing them to be easily read in low-light conditions. The nipple dial is considered highly desirable among collectors due to its distinctive look and its association with vintage Rolex models.
Chocolate Dial
A dial that has aged to a deep brown color, distinct from tropical dials.
