This is down not just to the watches’ exclusivity, but to the brand’s innovative, avant-garde materials and highly-detailed craftsmanship. Mille was inspired by Formula 1 cars, and it is on that level that his watches perform. First launched in 2006, this model RM010 is more discreetly-sized than other RMs, although still large at 48x39mm, and with its silvery-grey, Grade 5 Titanium case the watch is wearable on all occasions. The lightweight nature of titanium also makes this a perfect sportsman’s watch, with the gorgeous ergonomics of the case design ensuring that it fits perfectly against the wrist. The dial features a carbon fibre panel with the hour indices, a titanium faceplate, a quickset date aperture, and two sapphire crystal lenses through which can be viewed the skeletonised, highly engineered movement, customised in titanium to further reduce the weight of the watch. The twin-barrel arrangement provides the escapement valve with a constant flow of torque, whilst the free-sprung balance wheel offers shock resistance. A state-of-the-art masterpiece.
