Richard Mille RM 005 RM005 AF WG

Description

Richard Mille RM005

The Richard Mille RM005 is an early and significant model within the brand’s development, originally introduced in 2004. Crafted in white gold, this watch reflects a focus on combining technical innovation with a distinctive tonneau-shaped design. Measuring approximately 37.8 mm in width and 12.1 mm in thickness, it offers relatively compact proportions compared to later models, contributing to broad wearability across different wrist sizes. The case features a combination of finishes, including satin-brushed, polished, and media-blasted surfaces, secured with signature spline screws. Its curved caseback enhances ergonomics, allowing the watch to sit comfortably on the wrist. The dial architecture incorporates layered sapphire elements, with printed numerals and a carbon fiber flange supporting luminescent indices. The movement, based on a modified automatic calibre with a titanium baseplate, is mounted on elastomer supports for shock resistance. It includes a variable-geometry rotor, allowing adjustment of winding efficiency, as well as a power reserve of approximately 50 to 55 hours. Overall, the RM005 represents a foundational expression of Richard Mille’s design and engineering approach.
