Movement: signed, manual-winding caliber CH 27-70Q, n. 3046933, 24 jewels, rhodium-plated, côtes de Genève, Geneva seal, column wheel, Gyromax balance adjusted to heat and cold, isochronism and eight positions, free-sprung flat hairspring.

The reference 3970 was the first perpetual calendar chronograph from Patek Philippe to introduce leap year and 24-hour indications.
