Patek Philippe Reference 3970, 3rd Series A platinum perpetual calendar chronograph wristwatch with moon phases, 24 hours and leap year indication, Made in 1992 Dial: silvered Calibre: cal. CH27-70 Q mechanical, 24 jewels Movement number: 876'323 Case: platinum, screw down case back Case number: 2'919'406 Closure: black Patek Philippe alligator strap and platinum buckle Size: 36 mm diameter Signed: case, dial and movement Accessories: Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 1992 and its subsequent sale on 20 January 1993 The reference 3970 is one of the most coveted perpetual calendar chronographs ever made by Patek Philippe, representing the pinnacle of haute horlogerie with its intricate Lemania-based movement and timeless design. First introduced in 1986, the reference 3970 enjoyed a production run until 2004, when the reference was discontinued Produced in series, the present example is a third series. Comparing to the previous two series, the third series introduced the most striking visual evolution. Gone were the elegant feuille (leaf) hands of earlier models, replaced by sleek baton-style hands, while the hour markers became sharper and faceted to match. The dial itself adopted a brighter tone, with bolder printing that heightened contrast, giving the watch a more contemporary aesthetic—further emphasizing its role in the shift from vintage to modern design. These subtle but deliberate refinements underscore the 3970’s fascinating transition within Patek Philippe’s storied lineage. The present watch has been retained in very original and appealing condition.百達翡麗 型號3970 第三代 鉑金萬年曆計時腕錶,備月相、24小時及閏年顯示,1992年製 附帶後補資料庫精粹
