Patek Philippe

About this watch The Certificate of origin states that this wristwatch was originally fitted with a silver dial featuring applied white gold “Breguet” Arabic numerals. It was during a service, at the request of the watch’s owner, that Patek Philippe replaced it with a black dial featuring also applied white gold “Breguet” Arabic numerals. The original silver dial is included with the accessories, which comprise two new vintage PP straps from stock. –– Patek Philippe, Reference 5040 Introduced in 1992, reference 5040 is a tonneau-shaped wristwatch produced in yellow gold, pink gold, white gold, and platinum. The watch is fitted with the ultra-thin self-winding calibre 240 Q. This movement incorporates a perpetual calendar with indications for day, date, month, and leap year by hands, as well as moon phases and a day/night (AM-PM) indication. The case, of tonneau form, measures approximately 42.5 x 35.6 mm. It is described as protected against dust and humidity only, and not water-resistant. The case-back is interchangeable between a solid case-back and a sapphire-crystal display case-back (with the exception of the platinum versions). The dials are known in different executions, including black or white, featuring applied gold radiating and rotating Arabic numerals, and, more rarely, suspended “Breguet” Arabic numerals.
