Few watches have the iconic status of the steel Nautilus, first launched by Patek Philippe forty-five years ago in 1976. Presenting a robust tactile design inspired by the structure and hinges of a ship's porthole, this was something completely fresh and new. Steel wristwatches were also new to Patek Philippe, with precious platinum and gold favored for most of their creations. The Nautilus collection has grown tremendously in recent decades, with the addition of numerous models and the initial steel reference 3700/1A replaced by 5711/1A in 2006. With the latter reference discontinued in early 2021, Patek Philippe has decided to honor this steel icon with a new vibrating dial that will be produced for one year only. Water-resistant to 120 m, this model continues its original marine theme and features a stunning olive green sunburst dial that perfectly captures the colors of the sun-drenched Mediterranean Sea. A case size of 40 mm ensures that this piece has an elegant presence on the wrist and can be worn effortlessly from a casual lunch to a black tie event. The famous self-winding caliber 324SC has a strong association with the Nautilus family and powers this model, offering a maximum power reserve of 45 hours.
