Patek Philippe Calatrava 5153G-001

Description

Patek Philippe, Calatrava, 18ct White Gold

Patek Philippe launched the first ever Calatrava watch in the year of 1932 and since then have worked hard to ensure that the original design elements that define this model have remained the same despite growing their technological expertise. Each timepiece from this iconic collection brings a touch of uniqueness to the wrist. This reference 5153G is manufactured in 18ct white gold and features an officer's case. This is named in reference to some of the earliest wrist watches worn by men. Army officers, looking for something more practical than a pocket watch during battle, would buy the best quality gold pocket watch they could afford and solder lugs to the case, allowing it to be worn on a leather strap. The watch features a black dial with a textured sunburst motif in the centre, applied arrowhead markers and a date aperture at three o'clock. The 38mm case is completed with screwed lugs and a hinged dust cover covering a sapphire case back. The watch is powered by the self-winding cal. 324 S C, visible through the case back. The watch is fitted to a black alligator leather strap.
