A FINE, RARE AND UNWORN GENTS 18CT GOLD OMEGA CO-AXIAL STRAP WATCH circular blue "pie pan" style dial signed Chronometer Omega Automatic Co-Axial Escapement Limited Edition, with gilt Roman quarters and indices, date aperture at the 3 o'clock position, rose gold case, case back signed Co-Axial Escapement 982/999 , fitted with a blue alligator grain strap and an 18ct gold concealed buckle signed with the Omega symbol, Calibre 2500 automatic movement, model no. 5931.81.23. Case diameter 38mm This item represents an opportunity to acquire the first example of an Omega watch manufactured with the Co-Axial escapement. Now featured in most Omega watches, this escapement was invented by the Late Dr George Daniels, who spent much of his life living in the Isle of Man. He successfully invented a new type of escapement unaffected by friction and, therefore, requires very little lubrication, extending the time between service intervals. The owner of this watch has carefully curated some exclusive Omega documents to accompany the watch, which has never been worn and is expected to become highly collectable in future years. The watch is in unworn condition and is accompanied by the original Omega Box, which includes the Chronometer Warranty and an undated Omega Warranty, Operating Instructions for the watch and also the clasp, the De Ville Co-Axial Certificate number 982/999, and a booklet explaining the Co-Axial Escapement. Also included is a rare and original Omega Press Pack, which includes photographs of the Limited Editions and a comprehensive collection of documents about Dr George Daniels, the inventor of the Co-Axial Escapement.
