Commentaire : Première édition limitée d'une montre en acier par Omega
Le 15 juillet 1975 à 12h20, dépassant les barrières politiques, technologiques et linguistiques, les vaisseaux Soyouz et Apollo sont lancés simultanément du sol russe et américain. Première mission spatiale conjointe entre l'Union Soviétique et les États-Unis, Apollo-Soyuz est restée un des moments les plus marquants de la conquête spatiale. Jamais auparavant, un équipage spatial n'avait réuni des cosmonautes russes et américains, et pour la première fois ils portent tous la même montre : une Omega Speedmaster.
Les images des cosmonautes russes et américains circulant librement d'un vaisseau à l'autre en pleine guerre froide ont fait le tour du monde entier.
Pour marquer cet événement historique, Omega développe l'année suivante, et en collaboration avec son distributeur italien, une montre commémorative : la Speedmaster "Apollo-Soyuz" ref. 145.022.
Dans l'univers de la marque, cette Moonwatch n'a pas d'équivalent, et s'impose comme l'une des pièces les plus désirables pour tout collectionneur de montres Omega.
Manufacturée en 1976, c'est la toute première montre en acier produite en édition limitée par Omega. Édité uniquement à 500 exemplaires, ce chronographe fut distribué exclusivement par le distributeur officiel d'Omega : De Marchi.
Nom indissociable de l'histoire italienne d'Omega, Carlo De Marchi est un homme d'affaire turinois qui va permettre à Omega de connaitre un incroyable essor dans les années 1960 et 1970. C'est lui qui va fédérer les détaillants en organisant des congrès rassemblant jusqu'à 500 revendeurs, c'est encore lui qui va faire découvrir la marque au grand public en imaginant en 1963 "Time and Space", une exposition qui se déploie sur 5 villes, et c'est toujours lui qui fera installer le premier ordinateur chez Omega à Turin en 1964 pour gérer le stock et les garanties de toutes les montres italiennes.
Si la collaboration entre Di Marchi et Omega s'achève à la fin des années 1970, Carlo Di Marchi reste encore aujourd'hui un nom indissociable de la marque pour toute une génération de collectionneurs.
Dans un état de conservation remarquable, cette Moonwatch est un véritable collector pour tout passionné de la marque ainsi que pour tout amateur de séries spéciales.

First limited edition steel watch by Omega
On 15 July 1975 at 12.20 p.m., overcoming political, technological and linguistic barriers, the Soyuz and Apollo spacecraft were launched simultaneously from Russian and American soil. The first joint space mission between the Soviet Union and the United States, Apollo-Soyuz has remained one of the most significant moments in the conquest of space. Never before had a space crew included both Russian and American cosmonauts, and for the first time they all wore the same watch: an Omega Speedmaster.
The images of the Russian and American cosmonauts moving freely from one ship to the other in the midst of the Cold War were seen around the world.
To mark this historic event, Omega, in collaboration with its Italian distributor, developed a commemorative watch the following year: the Speedmaster "Apollo-Soyuz" ref. 145.022.
This Moonwatch has no equivalent in the brand's universe and is one of the most desirable pieces for any Omega watch collector.
Manufactured in 1976, it is the very first steel watch produced in a limited edition by Omega. Issued in a limited edition of only 500 pieces, this chronograph was distributed exclusively by Omega's official distributor, De Marchi.
Carlo De Marchi is a businessman from Turin, whose name is inseparable from Omega's Italian history. He was the man who enabled Omega to experience an incredible boom in the 1960s and 1970s. It was he who brought together the retailers by organising congresses attended by up to 500 dealers, it was he who introduced the brand to the general public by devising "Time and Space" in 1963, an exhibition that was held in five cities, and it was he who had the first computer installed at Omega's Turin site in 1964 to manage the stock and guarantees of all Italian watches.
Although Di Marchi's collaboration with Omega came to an end in the late 1970s, Carlo Di Marchi remains an inseparable name for a whole generation of collectors.
In a remarkable state of preservation, this Moonwatch is a true collector's item for all enthusiasts of the brand as well as for all lovers of special series.
