The Constellation is one of Omega's longest running lines and was initially released in 1952. The back of the case is engraved with the Geneva Observatory and eight stars. Each of the stars represents one of the eight precision records that Omega set at Kew-Teddington and the Geneva Observatory during the mid 20th century. Early models of the Constellation had domed 'pie pan' dials, but by the mid 1960s the dials became flatter and different case designs were produced. The example presented here is known as the C-case or C-type and was designed by non other than Gerald Genta. What makes this example particularly rare is the 18 carat white gold case and bracelet.
