An innovative, limited edition wrist chronograph. With this model, Omega celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission in 1969 and presents a model limited to 6,969 pieces - full set! The Speedmaster, which accompanied astronauts on all six moon landings, is one of Omega's most legendary timepieces. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission in 1969, Omega is releasing a limited edition of 6,969 watches. The watch features a 42 mm stainless steel case with an 18K Moonshine™ gold bezel. The bezel ring is made of polished black ceramique and features an Omega Ceragold™ tachymeter scale. The grey-black dial features indexes and hands crafted from 18 K Moonshine™ gold. A single hour marker is positioned at the 11 o'clock position. There is also a striking 18 K Moonshine™ gold subdial at 9 o'clock, which is laser-engraved with an image of Buzz Aldrin descending onto the surface of the Moon. In addition to numerous engravings, the case back features a medallion under sapphire crystal displaying a laser-engraved image of Buzz Aldrin's footprint. The inscription, plated with 18 K Moonshine™ gold, includes the famous quote 'THAT'S ONE SMALL STEP FOR A MAN ONE GIANT LEAP FOR MANKIND'. Inside this timepiece is a hand-wound chronograph movement with a Co-Axial escapement and a power reserve of 50 hours. It is certified by METAS as a Master Chronometer and is resistant to magnetic fields of up to 15,000 Gauss.
