This is perhaps one of the best examples of a typical 1970s chronograph any collector could ask for. It not only comes in lovely vintage condition, its peculiar case design, workhorse chronograph movement and funky dial set it particularly apart, by far, from its contemporary brethren. Please read the condition report carefully and refer to the high-resolution pictures to help you assess the overall condition of the watch. MODEL / REFERENCE: Lemania Bullhead Chronograph reference 9601. The serial number is 3055787. DIAL+ HANDS: The matte black and silver dial is absolutely gorgeous with strong vibrant colors, minimal spotting and three small blemishes. From the colorful subdial at 12 o’clock to the grey tachymeter scale on the periphery, the imprint is crisp and complete. The painted Tritium markers are fully intact and have taken on a slightly darker patina. Other than the vibrant orange central seconds hand, the handset is correct and in beautiful vintage condition with intact lume inlays that match the hour indexes’ color. CASE: The stainless-steel case features a quite unique trapezoidal profile that’s angled at 45 degrees. The measurements are 38mm in diameter and 41mm from lug to lug. The case is in fair vintage condition, with signs of use especially on the right side, commensurate with age and wear of the watch. CASEBACK: The single-step, screw-down case back comes in stainless steel and an overall good aesthetic condition, with some fine scratches across a brushed finish and polished flange. The inner side is clean and the bears the case’s reference number stamp. CRYSTAL: The domed plexiglass crystal displays few hairline scratches. CROWNS+PUSHERS: The crown is correct despite being unsigned. It winds the watch and sets the time flawlessly. The pump pushers seem to be correct to the watch, starting and stopping the chronograph functions with no problem and reset perfectly back to zero. They are all situated at 12 o’clock hence the “bullhead” nickname. MOVEMENT: The in-house manually wound Lemania 1872 calibre that animates this chronograph, maintains a bicompax display, featuring a constant running seconds at 6 o’clock, and a 30-minute recorder at 12 o’clock. The signed movement has been professionally serviced. It runs correctly and keeps good time. It winds, sets and all the chronograph functions work perfectly. BRACELET: This watch comes with a bespoke, Italian-made black leather strap with orange stitches and an unsigned steel pin buckle. ACCESSORIES: Saffiano Leather Watch Roll.
