JAEGER-LECOULTRE

JAEGER-LECOULTRE (GEOPHYSIC CHRONOMETER - ROSE GOLD REF. E 168), circa 1959 Geophysic Chronometer watch intended for engineers and polar adventurers. The specificity of this model comes from the soft iron dust cover protecting the movement from magnetic fields (acting as a Farraday cage resistant to 600 Gauss, engraved 096 FE 0037). It was the competitor of the engineer IWC and produced very few copies in pink gold. 18-carat (750 thousandths) pink gold case with smooth bezel, horn handles and screwed back (stamped and numbered 747455). White dial with central second hand, applied indexes and dauphine hands (2nd generation). Jaeger LeCoultre crocodile strap (Crocodylia spp. CITES appendix II B) with vintage 18-carat (750 thousandths) pink gold buckle. Movement: Manual winding mechanical caliber signed JAEGER-LeCOULTRE/ P 478 bw sbr n° 1276279 certified Swiss chronometer. Diam. 35mm.
