Regarded for its beautiful hues, the watch's design is inspired by 1967 America's Cup winner, "The Intrepid" which had several Heuer chronographs on board. To commemorate the win, Jack Heuer commissioned the 7754 (based off of the 7753), which today remains one of the brand's rarest and most coveted watches. The most notable characteristic of the watch is the colouring, which is directly taken from "The Intrepid": a deep metallic blue dial, mint green subsidiary seconds and the iconic tri-colour green, mint green, and orange 15 minute count-down register. The distinctive mint green comes from the deck of "The Intrepid" after an MIT study deemed it the colour least likely to produce distracting reflections. Heuer.
