The famous chronograph movement was created in a secret partnership between Breitling, Heuer-Leonidas, Hamilton/Büren and Dubois Dépraz to develop the first automatic chronograph. The Calibre 11 Chronomatic was presented in March 1969, shortly after Zenith had introduced its first automatic chronograph (el Primero) in January of the same year. The Calibre 11 is modular and combines Büren's micromotor movement with a chronograph module developed by Dubois-Dépraz. the current Calibre 12 has 21,600 vibrations instead of 19,800.
