" The Greubel Forsey "Double Tourbillon 30º Vision" is the result of four years of combined effort of renowned independent watchmakers Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey. Heralded as Greubel Forsey's "1st fundamental invention" the "Double Tourbillon 30º Vision" features the patented double tourbillon system, a decisive technical advance and milestone in watch making. This complication defies gravity and tradition by incorporating two cages separated by a 30-degree angle to optimize performance and oscillation of the balance wheel. A mark of its sophistication is that the two cages, comprising 128 elements, altogether weigh a mere 1.17 grams. A conical gearing composed of a wheel and a pinion with profiled teeth, enables improved power transmission arguably superior to that of classical solutions. The upper part of the dial is understated, with a matte grey finish, accented by pink gold Roman and baton numerals. While the skeletonized design of the lower part reveals the technical marvel of the double tourbillon. Apart from enhancing the watch's chronometric performance, the choice of 30 degrees for the angle between the two turning carriages ensures a perfectly acceptable depth to the watch. Fitted in an 18k pink gold case, the watch measures an impressive 43.5 mm in diameter. The case band is hand-engraved with a spiral motif symbolizing infinity.
