Girard-Perregaux

Description

Vintage Girard Perregaux Square

Girard Perregaux is one of the oldest Swiss watch manufacturers. Girard Perregaux has played an important role in the commercialization of wristwatches. One of the first large-scale transactions took place in 1880 between Girard Perregaux and the German Kaiser Wilhelm I for 2000(!) wristwatches for his naval officers. The brand is today particularly known for their complex mechanics and innovative use of materials. The specific watch we present to you dates from the 1970s. This is a period in which many experiments with shapes were conducted. This zeitgeist is perfectly reflected in this watch. It is a square watch with rounded corners, featuring a tonneau-shaped glass with the indices set in a round shape. The color contrast of the indices with the dial gives the watch a dynamic appearance.
