Vintage Girard Perregaux Oval

Girard Perregaux is one of the oldest Swiss watch manufacturers. Girard Perregaux has played an important role in the commercialization of wristwatches. One of the first large-scale transactions took place in 1880 between Girard Perregaux and the German Kaiser Wilhelm I for 2000(!) wristwatches for his naval officers. The brand is today particularly known for their complex mechanisms and innovative use of materials. The specific watch we present to you dates from the 1970s. This is a period in which many experiments with shapes were conducted. This zeitgeist is perfectly reflected in this watch. It is an oval watch in width with a round dial. The watch is in good condition. Please note that the watch has some metal spots on the back cover. See the attached photos.
