One of the prized watches from the so called ‘Dirty Dozen’ collection of British Military watches from the second World War. This Eterna is one of the hardest to find certainly in this condition with less than 5000 thought to have ever been made. Its anyones guess how many survived to this day with even fewer to hit the open market with many tucked away in private collections. Admittedly this particular Eterna is priced a little higher than some of the others that may be seen online but it is an exceptional example 36mm steel case we believe the crown, hands and dial to all be original with possibly the plexiglass a later replacement. As stipulated by the British Military of Defence all of the watches in the collections have the black radium dial with what would have been luminescent Arabic hour markers to match the luminescent radium filled hands. Subsidiary seconds dial at the bottom, the dial shows some minor natural pitting and the hands show some of the luminescent has fallen away however it should be noted that this was a military watch from 80 years ago. Case markings and movement markings all correct and with the watch having passed through our workshop its in fine working order.
