The slide rule enables the wearer to make calculations, such as fuel consumption, with an easy turn of the bezel. In 1968, Breitling released this reference 816, a large 48mm watch with a case produced by EPSA Piquerez, famed for making water-resistant cases at that time. The black dial is fondly named “Big Eyes” due to its silver subdials, and is brought to life with its striking orange-red chronograph hands. A Twin Jet logo at 12 o’clock sits above the words “BREITLING GENEVE” and “NAVITIMER” Powering the watch is the manual-wind Venus 178, a movement also used in the popular Navitimer 806. This watch is supplied in a condition consistent with its age, having been worn and enjoyed for many years. The movement has been tested and is running well.
