Breitling Jupiter Pilot Navitimer 3300 Jupiter Pilot - Iraqi Air Force Issued - Vintage - 1980s
The Breitling Navitimer (Jupiter 3300) watch comes with a number of features we typically see on a pilot's watch; a chronograph, dual time (via analog and digital displays), bi-directional rotating bezel, back-light, lined hands/indices and a screw down crown.
This particular example displays Iraqi Air Force issue markings on the caseback and comes from the Suddam Hussein era (1980s). Essentially, these watches were either issued to pilots or Air Force officers. But, sometimes these were gifted to foreign dignitaries, and other political officials. This one does not come from the original owner, but it does come from a gentleman that did receive it during the gulf war. Whether it was found or taken off, the wrist of a pilot remains a mystery.
CONDITION REPORT
Dial: Nice matching patina on the markers and no notable blemishes under magnification.
Bezel: Honest signs of use. Only light wear consistent with age.
Hands: All of the tritium remains intact and matches the lume of the dial.
Case: Normal signs of use consistent with age. The the lugs remain thick and even showing sharp chamfers. Caseback markings are still clearly visible. Correct pushers and signed crown.
Bracelet: Tight and well preserved. Should fit up to a 7.5 inch wrist with the micro adjust on the clasp.
Crystal: Clear.
