It needed to be mechanically accurate and extremely durable. The pilots had mentioned that previous watch crystals cracked when they accidentally knocked them against the aircraft, and as such, Breitling designed four riders, or tabs, around the bezel to protect the crystal. The Chronomat became a core range in Breitling’s collection, and they created many watches with that same design aspect, including this early 2000’s Callisto. The 34.4mm steel case is adorned with four 18ct gold rider tabs and a gold crown. The striking copper-coloured dial also has gold indices and hands – the counter-weight of the second hand has Breitling’s iconic anchor logo. Powering the watch is a Swiss quartz movement, meaning that the watch is ready to go as soon as you are, ideal for today’s busy lives. The watch is supplied with its original Breitling brown leather strap and steel pin buckle, along with a brand-new generic brown leather strap. Also supplied with paperwork and a 6-month warranty.
