Breitling Top Time 2002-33

Description

1970s Breitling Top Time Reference 2002-33

1970s Breitling Top Time Reference 2002-33, $3,400, Why This Watch Matters The silvered sub-registers look stunning on the reverse panda dial of this Breitling, and easily explain the love that the Top Time invariably gets. The Full Story The Top Time is a chronograph emblematic of the 1960s, and is similar in many ways to the Heuer Carrera. Obviously, its case shape is different than that of the Heuer, but their dimensions are almost identical, and they rely on the same Valjoux chronograph caliber. The thick handset and indexes of this example indicate a production in the late 1960s to early 1970s, which is also confirmed by the serial number. The Top Time was designed to appeal to a younger generation, and put the chronograph back in fashion. And we can now say that it definitely succeeded. The Fine Print Maker: Breitling Model: Top Time Reference: 2002-33 Year: 1970 Case No: 1339689 Material: Stainless steel Dimensions: 35.5mm diameter; 12mm thickness Crystal: Plexiglass Lume: Tritium Caliber: Manual winding chronograph caliber Valjoux 7733 Bracelet/Strap: HODINKEE Light Brown Leather Racing Strap Lug Width: 19mm Box/Papers: No What we Love and What You Should Know The black dial does not show any imperfections, especially in the silvered finish of its sub-registers. The lume plots are all whole (although slightly misaligned at 12 o'clock, something we have seen on many other Top Time), and have taken a very nice orange patina. The straight handset is consistent for the time period, and shows only some minor aging to the minute hand. The red seconds hand is also correct for that configuration, and so is the signed crown. The case looks well preserved (if not unpolished), and the engravings on the caseback are crisp and deep.1970s Breitling Top Time Reference 2002-33 Regular price $3,400 Default Title Default Title - Sold Out Sold Sold See Similar watches NOTIFY ME WHEN AVAILABLE Why This Watch Matters The silvered sub-registers look stunning on the reverse panda dial of this Breitling, and easily explain the love that the Top Time invariably gets.
