BREGUET Type XX civil Ref : 37XX (complete and visible numbering) Circa: 1960 Case: round steel, graduated unidirectional bezel, round fluted winding mechanism, round pushers, screw-down caseback. Dial: black signed Breguet, baton hour-markers and painted Arabic numerals, sub-counter at 3 o'clock for minutes, sub-counter at 9 o'clock for seconds. Hands: syringe. Glass: organic. Movement: mechanical hand-wound, Valjoux 230 with flyback function (original). Strap: steel Milanese mesh, steel ratchet buckle. Set: none. Mail validating the watch with the Breguet archives. We thank Emmanuel Bréguet for his kind collaboration. 3752: Type XX 13-line chronograph wristwatch, stainless steel case, 15-minute totalizer, return-in-flight function, leather strap. Sold on January 4, 1969 to Mr XXXXX for 620 francs. Diameter: 38 mm. Length: 22 cm. The son of a renowned French aviator (lot 24 Zenith), he grew up in a world marked by a strong aeronautical tradition. Attracted in turn to the field, he is said to have served in the French Air Force during the Second World War. More reserved and less publicized than his father, he is mainly credited with prolonging the family's commitment to aeronautics, even if his career remains poorly documented.
