Description

Breguet Marine Nationale Aeronautique Navale

The Breguet cockpit watch of the Marine Nationale stands as a testament to Breguet’s deep-rooted connection with the history of history of France’s military aviation. In 1958, only a very small number of these instruments were delivered exclusively to French navy pilots. With its dedicated 24-hour display, it was purerely a precision tool and never intended for any purpose other than operational service. The rare piece is presented in an elegant mahogany case with a window revealing the dial. Its glossy black dial features white numerals that stand out sharply against the background, while the white hands ensure excellent readability. The caseback bears the engraving "Marine Nationale – Aéronautique Navale", followed by the inventory number 0112-A, which matches the number engraved on the steel plaque on the mahogany box. Technically, the clock is based on a modified Valjoux 5 calibre, adapted to the strict specifications of the Navy. An identical example is today on display in the famous Breguet Museum in Paris.
