This watch represents french watchmaking better than anything else. It is the large size at 36mm length. This one has a smooth case in super sharp condition. The case features the patented Boucheron closure system. The dial is solid gold and has been brushed horizontally. It has applied gold baton indexes and an applied 12 marker. The hands are also solid gold and these are the signature boucheron style hands for this period. This is one of the rare instances where the caseback is just as impressive as the front. It has a beautiful engraving in handwriting style, as we also often see on early Cartier wristwatches. In addition there is a mysterious monogram or logo that evokes a Daliesque feeling to me. The super sharp eagle hallmarks to show that we are dealing with a french case here. Then there is the ornate Boucheron engraving with the closing system patent numbers as well as an Omega logo. The Omega logo indicates the watch runs on a hand wound Omega movement. Boucheron watches from this period with smooth finished cases are very. rare.
