More about Aquastar:
Aquastar was founded in 1962 with a focus on watches intended for use in and on the water. Later, in 1964, the company released a watch designed specifically for the timing of yacht races, the Regate. This model's calling card are the five circular apertures on the dial, a five minute regatta timer. To activate the timer, the pusher at four o’clock is pushed, causing the five apertures to turn red. Releasing the pusher, the seconds hand will then be set in motion. After each minute has passed, the red apertures will turn from red to silver sequentially. When all windows appear silver, the user knows that five minutes have elapsed.
The dial on this watch is signed with both Aquastar and Heuer. The two companies worked together on the Regate – with Aquastar producing the watch and Heuer in charge of distribution.
