This is the magnificent A. Lange & Sohne Langematik Perpetual Calendar reference no. 310.026. It has an 18K white gold case on a black alligator leather strap with an 18K white gold tang buckle. The watch movement is the automatic A. Lange & Sohne Caliber L922. The dial is black with Roman numerals, day, outsized date, month, moon phases, leap year, day/night 24-hour indicator, and zero reset complications. It has a sapphire crystal display and display back and is water resistant to 3 atm. The case size is 38.5 mm, with a thickness of 10.2mm. The A. Lange & Söhne’s case structure is a concrete example of differentiation on design. Constructed on three levels with alternating finishes as polished and brushed, it appears and feels heavily engineered. Implemented by Blümlein himself as another point of distinction from its Swiss counterparts, the lugs are notched, and mirror finished at the base and screwed into the case. They do not flow through the case but rather form their own structure and gracefully taper towards the strap. The sum of these small details forms a character, a character that is apparent even at a glance, one that lets you know it is something different. The watch has an incredible 478 individual parts.
