It originates from a real project developed in the 1960s for the French Marine Nationale, when a watch was needed that truly worked under extreme conditions, not just looked good. ZRC answered with the Grands Fonds 300, a technical and radical watch, designed together with military divers. Its most evident feature – the crown at 6 o’clock – was not an aesthetic choice but a functional solution: to avoid impacts on the wrist and ensure the watch was always properly closed before use.
