If you’ve ever admired the first-generation Patek Aquanaut for its thinness, you’ll appreciate what Zenith pulled off here. Recently serviced (late 2024) by a reputable vintage dealer in The Hague, the ETA-based movement runs flawlessly and should be set for years to come. The nicely designed Rainbow bracelet is another highlight—exceptionally comfortable, with great articulation and a solid butterfly clasp. While it lacks micro-adjustment holes, the watch’s lightness and slim profile make for an easy, all-day wear. Especially nice on smaller wrists (17 cm and below). This is a watch that’s been worn and enjoyed, as it should be. No major damage, dents, or deep scratches, but it’s got the kind of honest wear that gives a high-quality Swiss watch character. I'd take this over the 2000s "usual suspects" like a Seamaster or Submariner any day. A few things to note: - There’s a visible scratch on the sapphire crystal, running from the 30 to the 20 on the bezel. It’s not distracting and doesn’t affect visibility, but it’s worth mentioning. - The seconds hand is a service replacement, so it still has some glow, while the rest of the tritium has aged to a beautiful brown-gray patina.
