WW1 c.1917 Waltham USA Military Watch

A bit of an oddball.. In 1917 when the USA joined WW1 the Elgin Watch Co produced three styles of watches for the government these were for officers and men bound for France, they were called the Pershing, the Foch and the Kitchener named after the three generals responsible for the American, French & British Armies engaged fighting the Germans. This Waltham looks a dead ringer for the Elgin Pershing it has been said that Waltham was asked to make these because Elgin couldn't meet the numbers of watches required, but we don't know for sure but it would make sense Allwe know is that this watch is Gold plated with a steel back and that it has a Jewelled Made in the USA Waltham movement inside Cosmetically overall in good condition and running.
