The watch is in good condition, runs normally and keeps time. But I didn't do any long-term testing; for watches this old, a factory overhaul is recommended, if they are used regularly. The fire-gilded movement is signed "American Waltham USA, 15 Jewels" and its serial number 12741020. The screw heads have been polished and blued, which gives the movement a very elegant look. The case is probably gold plated or a 333 alloy, I couldn't find any gold hallmarks. Otherwise, the casing, which weighs approximately 63 grams, is in very nice condition, without any damage (no deep scratches or dents). All covers of the watch open and close normally and are all engraved with the congruent case number 8246589, as is the movement bezel. The outer movement cover is engraved with "Philadelphia Watch Case Co" and central crown, the dust cover with "Excelsior Warranted" and "Guaranteed 20 Years", and small watchmaker's marks are engraved, one "N23" and one presumably "18015WN" and two more, I can not identify clearly. The enamel dial has a few fine hairline cracks but is otherwise in beautiful condition, the gold Louis Roskopf hands are in very good condition. As an "extra treat" the watch comes on a gold-colored, elaborately crafted watch chain. The chain alone weighs approx. 23.5 grams. The chain has some nice decorations and a manufacturer engraving (F&C Co), which I cannot assign. Also a golden medal from the “FOE” or “Fraternal Order of Eagles”. Die Uhr ist in gutem Zustand und läuft normal an und hält die Zeit. Ich habe aber keinen Langzeittest gemacht, bei so alten Uhren empfiehlt sich bei regelmässigem Gebrauch eine Werksrevision. Das feuervergoldete Uhrwerk ist mit "American Waltham USA, 15 Jewels" signiert, ausserdem die Serien Nr. 12741020. Die Schraubenköpfe wurden poliert und gebläut, was dem Uhrwerk ein sehr edles Aussehen beschert. Das Gehäuse ist vermutlich vergoldet, oder eine 333er Legierung, ich konnte keine Gold Punzen finden. Ansonsten ist das ca. 63 Gramm schwere Gehäuse in sehr schönem Zustand, ohne Beschädigung (keine tiefe Kratzer oder Beulen). Alle Deckel der Uhr öffnen und schliessen normal und sind alle mit der deckungsgleichen Gehäuse Nr. 8246589 graviert, ebenso die Werkseinfassung. Der äussere Werksdeckel ist mit "Philadelphia Watch Case Co" und zentraler Krone graviert, der Staubdeckel mit "Excelsior Warranted" und "Guaranteed 20 Years", ausserdem sind kleine Uhrmacherzeichen eingeritzt, einmal "N23" und einmal vermutlich "18015WN" und noch zwei weitere, die ich aber nicht näher identifizieren konnte. Das Emaille Zifferblatt hat wenige feine Haarrisse aber ist sonst in schönem Zustand, die goldenen Louis Roskopf Zeiger sind in sehr gutem Zustand. Als "Schmankerl" kommt die Uhr an einer goldfarbigen, aufwendig gearbeiteten Uhrenkette. Die Kette allein wiegt ca. 23.5 Gramm. Die Kette weist einige Verzierungen auf und sogar eine Herstellergravur (F&C Co), die ich aber nicht zuordnen kann. Ausserdem eine goldige Medaille des "FOE" oder «Fraternal Order of Eagles». Ein schönes und seltenes Sammlerstück, ich bin offen für Angebote und stehe für weitere Fragen gerne zur Verfügung.
