A 18ct Rose Gold Minute Repeater Keyless Lever Highly Engraved Full Hunter Pocket Watch C1880. Dial: The excellent white enamel dial with bold Arabic Numerals outer minute track and subsidiary seconds dial at six o'clock. The original rose gold Louis XVI style hands with blued steel subsidiary seconds hand. Case: The beautiful highly engraved back and front covers with garlands and flowers, the cartouche has a monogram engraved with the initials SEB. The inner case back is engraved Volta and with all the medals of Honor won in Paris, Chicago and Geneve in 1889, 1893 and 1896 respectively. The cases are all signed numbered and Swiss hallmarked for 18ct Rose Gold. Movement: The gilt metal three quarter plate movement is fully jewelled with compensation balance fast slow regulation with the repeating fly wheel on the back plate. The polished steel hammers chiming the hours, quarters and minutes in perfect sequence. Volta were a niche Swiss company working from La Chaux-de- Fond that specialized in making complicated watches and repeaters for the South American Market. This watch being a fine example of their craftmanship.
