The case measures at 42mm in diameter and 12mm in height, which is a perfect ratio that allows for unparalleled levels of comfort when on the wrist. Moreover, the design of the case infuses modern trends, such as the dimensions, with more traditional features found on a field watch, such as the rotating bezel. This adds to the watches vintage feel. Also present is a screw down crown, embossed with the Victorinox logo, besides the 3 o’clock mark. Finally, anti reflective sapphire crystal glass has been applied, this both ensures maximum levels of legibility and protection from scratches and knocks. The Dial: Legibility appears to be the driving force behind the design of the dial. As is evidenced through the adoption of large lume filled Arabic numerals, as well as oversized lume filled sword hands that are set against a black dial. The inner dial of the watch displays the second time zone. It also features a third hour hand, with an aesthetically pleasing hollowed out circular tip. Likewise, a date window is positioned neatly besides the 3 o’clock mark. Also present are vibrant splashes of orange that complement the orange strap. They are present through the second hand, the GMT logo and on the hour markers on the minute track. Also visible is the Victorinox logo that replaces the 12 o’clock marker. The Strap: Furthermore, the vigorous orange rubber strap earns this timepiece its sporty status. It is one of the most eye catching variants of the Field Force family and it is certainly going to draw some attention to the wearers wrist. Rubber straps are particularly well suited to sporting activities, because they are waterproof, they do not degrade and can be easily washed after being rigorously worn. They also offer unparalleled levels of comfort. The standard gun metal grey buckle of the bracelet has ‘Victorinox’ logo engraved onto it. The Functions: Ronda 515.24H movement powers this timepiece, it is a highly dependable quartz movement that has been tried and tested. The Brand: Victorinox Victorinox Swiss Army is defined by the spirit of innovation and sustainability. Responsibly meeting the needs of the present – and ensuring that future generations will be able to meet theirs – requires innovative thinking of an unprecedented scale. Robustness, durability and quality are the key requests. The brand first came to fruition in 1884 when Karl Elsener opened a cutlery workshop in Ibach, with the support of his mother Victoria. The union is founded with the company supplying soldiers knives, which would later be famously known as the Swiss army knife. Following the death of his mother the brand became known as Victorinox, combining his mothers name and the word ‘inox’, an abbreviation for the French word inoxydable or stainless. In 1989 the brand first launched its first watch collection produced in Biel, Switzerland. Today, the brand is built upon four key values; quality, functionality, innovation & iconic design.
